I opened an account with Citibank on XX/XX/XXXX for the sole purpose of being able to deposit a check from XXXX XXXX that I had gotten that was deposit only and I was not allowed to cash at a check cashing place. I deposited the check it was accepted and cleared on XX/XX/XXXX but didn't show in my account and suddenly I couldn't access my amount online. It started asking for debit card information which I don't have because it's only been a day since opening. so I called the bank to verify what was going on the customer support lady said I needed to wait until the card arrived and everything was all good with my account and I was told the funds would be held for 5 days. And then my cousin sent me a XXXX payment. Citibank verified and told me my card was on its way then I get a email on XX/XX/XXXX maybe XXXX minutes after having up with customer support that my account was going to be closed because I violated the terms laid down in the terms and conditions when I called I asked what terms I had violated and I was not told anything they refused to answer the question they said " well you're just going to have to wait till the letter comes '' " I said well what do I need to do to get my money out of the account ' and they said well you need to go down to a branch so I went down to the branch and they told me that they couldn't help me that there was nothing I could do and they wouldn't tell me what terms I violated and now they won't tell me anything they closed my account I don't have access to it nothing.
