We visited one of the Bank of America locations on XX/XX/XXXX to make a wire transfer to my mother-in-law, who lives in XXXX. We provided the bank with the name and account number for the transfer. The banker completed the wire ; however, we received a letter from Bank of America on XX/XX/XXXX stating that they declined our transfer of {$1000.00} on XX/XX/XXXX, and that the funds had been frozen ( TRN XXXX Reference XXXX ). The letter also stated that, to unfreeze the funds, we were asked to contact OFAC 's Licensing Division to obtain a " License to Release Blocked Funds. '' We applied to OFAC 's Licensing Division on XX/XX/XXXX. We received a letter from the Department of the Treasury on XX/XX/XXXX, stating that we should contact the U.S. financial institution holding the blocked funds ( Case No. XXXX ). After receiving the OFAC letter, I called Bank of America customer service to request the release of the funds. I was told that they had not received the letter and that I needed to wait at least six more weeks for them to process the refund. I waited more than six weeks, but the funds have still not been released. I visited the local branch three times to ask one of the bankers, named XXXX XXXX, to help me. I shared all the documents, including the OFAC fund release letter. However, she was also unable to resolve the issue. I do not know what else I can do to have the funds refunded.
