Consumer Narrative

I have had a credit card account with Citibank since XXXX. This year during some research into the company 's operating structure as it pertains to credit card accounts, I read through their SEC filings ( prospectus reports, XXXX and XXXX forms, Trust indenture agreement ) and learned that not only was my account sold into a Trust as a receivable which makes me a direct investor in their company, but I also have an open-ended revolving credit account which Citibank has fully benefited from while imposing limits on my end of the barter ( setting credit limits and spending caps ). I looked at my IRS transcripts and learned that they have not filed any kind of 1099s pertaining to our bartering, which made me even more curious after learning that they sold my application into a Trust along with a pool of other accounts ( meaning that they received a healthy OID payout at some point ). Learning my position as investor VS consumer, I went further in my research and discovered that according to 15 U.S. Code 1666d, any credit balance > {$1.00} is money owed to me and I have the right to request it, and as of XX/XX/XXXX, that's what I did. I wanted to settle the debt obligations on my account by properly stamping and endorsing ( pursuant to 31 CFR 328.6 ) the instruments that Citibank was sending me with my monthly statements and informed them that this is how I wished to do so moving forward. To protect myself against potential retaliation, I made sure to have two witnesses and a notary sign a letter that I sent to Citibank revoking any POA they held regarding handling their fiduciary duties in managing my account without my direction/consent ( including the power to close my account without prior notice ). In retaliation, they closed my account and shut off all services connected to me using my credits and credit card and won't allow me to redeem the current balance that's owed to me, so I'm paying the debt obligation from my bank account to avoid elevated interest charges. I went from having XXXX credit score to now being in the low XXXX 's, all because I wanted a fair barter relationship.
