Citibank is the issuer for the Home Depot card. While I have been making monthly payments regularly, they were below the full amount. But upon calling Home Depot customer service on XX/XX/year> to arrange a payment plan and schedule reduced payments for a short-term period, the Home Depot customer service had to transfer me to Citibank. Citibank then advised that my account had already been closed for months. I never received a communication by mail, email or online portal, regarding account closure nor freeze of credit line. I advised Citibank of the Fair Credit Reporting violation ( s ) and that I would be filing complaint. I requested proof of communication. Citibank mailed a letter dated XX/XX/year> advising that they did nothing wrong and provided no proof of when they closed the account or when they provided notification in writing. violation of 1002.9 ( a ) ( 1 ). The 1099-B and OID have been reported on this account to properly report the taxes to the Internal Revenue Service . I have consistently shown willingness and ability to pay ; this termination is a violation of 1002.7 ( c ) ( 1 ). 15 U.S.C. 1691 adverse action. I am the original creditor pursuant to 15 U.S.C. 1602 and the OID.
