I am writing to formally submit a complaint against Bank of America regarding the termination of my account, as communicated in a letter dated XX/XX/year>. The letter states that the termination was due to irregular transactions or other activity on one or more of your accounts, with us and or our affiliates, or on your credit profile. Since receiving this notification, I have made multiple attempts to contest the termination through both written correspondence and phone calls to Bank of America. Unfortunately, these efforts have not resulted in any changes to my credit standing. I believe that this adverse action may violate my rights under the Equal Credit Opportunity Act. The relevant provisions concerning extensions of credit reads as follows : Action concerning existing open-end accounts ( 1 ) Limitations. In the absence of evidence of the applicant 's inability or unwillingness to repay, a creditor shall not take any of the following actions regarding an applicant who is contractually liable on an existing open-end account on the basis of the applicant 's reaching a certain age or retiring or on the basis of a change in the applicant 's name or marital status ( iii ) Terminate the account. I have consistently made timely payments, as documented in my XXXX XXXX report, and there is no evidence to suggest that I have been unable or unwilling to meet my financial obligations. Furthermore, I have recently submitted instructions to Bank of America for the transfer of ownership of my security bond to me, including directives regarding the handling of proceeds for future payments. I trust that Bank of America will fulfill its obligations in securing payments and distributions made by the issuer of my financial asset, ensuring that future payments continue to be made on time.
