My account was put on hold due to a check I deposited on my account on XX/XX/year>. It was under my dads name and was payed to the order of me. The bank put my account on hold and told me that they need to verify my dads name matches a phone number provided. I provided the phone number and they told me that the number doesnt pop up under his name. We then made my dad his own account separately under his name and they still say they cant verify and that his phone number doesnt show under his name on public records. They closed my account on XX/XX/year>. They also say that thats the only way they can release the funds to me is once they verify the phone number. I have seen complaints about the same issue happening to many many more Chase customers and how they bank until this day havent released their funds to them. Does Chase just keep the money?!
