The recent closure of my personal bank account without prior notification or valid explanation from Bank of America has left me in helpless despair. On Monday, XX/XX/XXXX, I contacted Bank of America to close my business account, as I had decided not to proceed with starting my business and put the plans on pause until I was able to be in a better financial position. This account was separate from my personal account which I opened at a later date. I wanted to bank with Bank of America and stop banking with my current bank XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX where I receive my only income my VA XXXX checks due to me being a 100 % XXXX Veteran. However, on XX/XX/XXXX, I attempted to access my personal account, only to find that it had been locked and subsequently closed. I was shocked to discover that this had been done without any prior notification or communication from the institution. When I contacted the support team, I was informed that this was a business decision. I was given no further clarification and was spoken to like a second-class citizen. This decision has left me stranded overseas as I came to visit family for some time to get on my feet after going through bankruptcy earlier this year. The money was for me to start a new life for me and my fiance. My fiance and I reside in XXXX ( my place of residence ), without access to my life savings or financial resources. As a 100 % XXXX veteran, this situation has caused me immense distress to my mental health, primarily as I rely on these funds for my daily living expenses. I did nothing wrong to warrant the closure of my account, and I was never informed that such action would be taken. Given my current situation in a foreign country, the urgency of this matter can not be overstated. I am without access to my funds, which places me in an extremely vulnerable position. I'm not even able to purchase a plane ticket back to my home country, the United States. I implore you to address this issue with the utmost urgency. I can provide proof of my VA XXXX status i can provide proof of all my statements with XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX and transaction history to my Bank of America account. I can provide all evidence of XXXX wrong-doing on my part.
