I opened a high-yield savings account at Goldman Sachs after getting my Apple credit card. I had no difficulties transferring money from my XXXX XXXX bank account to Goldman. This account grew to approximately {$160000.00}. There was no email or paper trail of any transferences or balance. Instead, all was stored in the Apple Wallet app. My XXXX broke and I could not log in to my Apple card anymore. I decided to close that card as the lack of any paper trail - even emails- made me very uneasy. I then requested to close my savings account with GS. No problem, they said. They could not transfer the funds back to my XXXX XXXX account- why?? they had no problem when the $ flow was towards them - so they told me to expect a check w/i the next 3-5 office days. The next 2 days I was called by them. The voicemail said to call a certain XXXX XXXX at a number. This number was the main Apple Card support number. I explained the situation, they " checked things out '' and everything seemed ok. Same message the next day, same answer. Today, six days after the closing call, having received no letter or email, I decided to call them. I was put through a Goldman Sachs agent who informed me that nothing had been done as the closure was not confirmed and was under review. I expressed my frustration. I asked to speak to a supervisor. Surprisingly there were " none '' as all had left XXXX minutes ago. And that she could not do anything for me. So now, I'll have to waste another hour to call, explain the situation, and get nowhere. It is clear that they are stalling. And, having zero paper trail, they can just as well tell me I never had an account with them. This stinks of fraudulent activity. And if not nefarious, for sure incompetent. Worse banking experience in my XXXX XXXX
