To whom it may concern : I am writing to formally request the refund of my earnest deposit of {$500.00} that {$100.00} of it was withheld after I decided not to proceed with the mortgage loan process through Rocket Mortgage. The experience with the LO was highly unprofessional and him trying to coerce out of a better contract to line his pockets better is atrocious. I had to have family who work in the real estate industry to advise me, if I did not know this I would've been taken advantage of. Upon reviewing the terms of our agreement, I find no specific provision that authorizes Rocket Mortgage to retain part of my deposit. The agreement vaguely states that the deposit may or may not be refundable depending on the status of your loan. However, no appraisal or credit report had been completed, and no other substantive services were provided at the time I withdrew from the process. Given this lack of clarity and service, I am requesting a full refund of my deposit. Please provide a detailed explanation, in writing, for why the deposit was withheld and on what grounds Rocket Mortgage believes it is entitled to retain these funds. I chose a better mortgage option with that better aligns with my financial situation better sets me up for the future. Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to your reply.
