I placed a report with citi after finding out about that accounts have been opened in my name as a product of identity theft. They responded back that my information match, of course it would but it was fraudulent opened. I asked for proof of the application showing address signature and identification that was submitted. I filed a police report XX/XX/XXXX got a new Florida drivers license XX/XX/XXXX due to this theft, that is where I lived. I then moved to maryland and got a new drivers license XX/XX/XXXX. Citi requested no police report or supporting documents from me but says that the account is mine. I have been dealing with the identity theft for years since with fraudulent cards and banking information being obtained with my information. I have requested the following and still have not receive debt verification letter. In the letter, you can ask for specific information, such as : The original creditor 's name and contact information & The amount owed o A copy of the original contract with your signature o An accounting statement showing how the amount owed was calculated a A copy of the agreement authorizing the collector to collect on behalf of the creditor
