Consumer Narrative

At the end of XXXX ( unable to provide exact date, as Navy Federal changed my account numbers as part of the Fraud Alert and Account Recovery process and I can no longer access previous statements ) I received a notification via the Navy Federal Mobile App that money had been taken out of my account. When I logged into the app, I saw that {$5000.00} had been withdrawn from my checking account, which came as a surprise as I had never had that much money in my account ever. Shortly after seeing that, I noticed that a new loan had been taken out in my name, and I immediately contacted Navy Federal to begin the Fraud Alert and Account Recovery process. I was issued new account numbers for checking and savings account, debit card, credit card, loan numbers. I submitted the first fraud claim that day over the phone with Navy Federal, and the person on the phone said it certainly appeared to be fraudulent activity. Fast forward a few weeks, I got a letter in the mail saying that my fraudulent loan claim had been denied as there was " no billing error detected. '' After this, I went to my ( at the time ) local Navy Federal branch in XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX to talk to a representative. After reviewing the loan application, the branch representative asked us to step outside for a moment and called into Navy Federal to what I assume was the underwriters to " give them an earful '' for approving what was an obviously fraudulent application. The branch representative said that the work place didn't match mine, the application listed assets that were not mine, and told us that the person in XXXX that the loan was " instantly transferred to '' went on a " good little spending spree. '' As a result of this, I filled out and successfully disputed the loan on all three credit bureaus, as well as submitted a report on identitytheft.gov, and put the report numbers on the next appeal, to no avail. After this, I went back into the bank to speak to another representative, who told me she " didn't understand why this kept getting denied. '' I went and filled out the paperwork once again with the branch representative and included all the credit bureau information as well as the identitytheft.gov report number, but was denied once more. I have also since frozen all my credit on all three bureaus. I am currently stuck in a loop of appealing and getting denied with no information provided as to why, only having what the branch representatives have told me is " clearly fraudulent '' to go off of. I am at my wits end, this process has been going on for over three months, and I am not sure what the next steps I need to take are to get this resolved.
