I am filing this complaint because Capital One has refused to provide a copy of the original contract related to an account that is currently reported on my credit report as a " Collection/Charge-Off. '' Despite my repeated requests under the Fair Credit Reporting Act ( FCRA ) for documentation bearing my signature that verifies the debt, Capital One has not provided the requested documentation. In a letter dated XX/XX/scrub> 2024, Capital One stated that they do not have a paper copy to send because the application was taken over the phone or the internet.
