I am writing to file a complaint regarding the XXXX credit card issued by Capital One. The card was advertised with a benefit of earning 10 % back in rewards for the first 30 days on purchases at XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, and affiliated brands, followed by 5 % back thereafter. This benefit was a key factor in my decision to apply for and use the card. After opening the card ( around XX/XX/year> ), I made XXXX purchases at XXXX XXXX XXXX of activating the card. XXXX of these purchases ( XX/XX/XXXX ) was credited correctly ; however, the larger purchase, totaling {$2500.00} ( bought on XX/XX/XXXX and received on XX/XX/XXXX ), was not credited. According to the terms, credits are supposed to be granted within 30 days of receiving the merchandise. It has now been almost XXXX weeks past this deadline, and I still have not received the {$250.00} in merchandise certificates that I am due. I have contacted customer service at both XXXX and Capital One more than half a dozen times, including once during a conference call with representatives from both companies. Despite spending significant timeover an hour in totalon these calls, I have been unable to resolve the issue. The calls, which were recorded by Capital One, should be available for review. During these interactions, customer service representatives acknowledged that I am owed {$250.00} in merchandise certificates, yet I continue to be bounced back and forth between XXXX and Capital One, with each claiming the other is responsible for and will address the problem. While I am certainly frustrated by the time and effort I have spent trying to resolve this matter, my primary motivation in filing this complaint is not simply to recover my own losses. Rather, I am deeply concerned that other consumers, perhaps less experienced with navigating customer service or less familiar with their rights, could be similarly misled and taken advantage of.
