I have a credit freeze on file with the XXXX major credit reporting companies. XXXX and TransUnion do not offer two-factor authentication for the accounts that people are required to set up with these companies in order to establish a credit freeze. ( XXXX does offer XXXX. ) Very little personal information is required to set up these accounts, and as a result they would be very easy to hack, particularly given the number of major data breaches there have been, including of XXXX itself in 2017. XXXX offers two-factor authentication for certain of the paid services if offers. Why isn't it -- and TransUnion -- required to offer XXXX to consumers who are trying to protect their financial information?
