I have literally tried to use this amex gift card everywhere and the only place that would accept is XXXX and have nothing more to buy there so want amex to cash out since they advertise that these are accepted anywhere amex is accepted which is bogus or in the alternative I am asking the CFPB to disallow AMEX from stating these gift cards are good anywhere AMEX is accepted. I filed a XXXX complaint and they do not provide anyone to speak to and they responded stating these gift cards may not be able to be used for cash out and or online if online retailer does not allow split transaction. This does not answer why I have been unsuccessful at using in store as well. I also find it crazy that even if you can use to buy items it is almost next to impossible to get the final remaining small amounts off of these gift cards so I would love to know where all of those funds go if they are never used?
