Consumer Narrative
I was notified by phone on XX/XX/XXXX that my mortgage had been transferred from XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX Truist Bank. I would pay XXXX on XXXX and begin paying Truist on XXXX. A few days later I received a welcome letter from Truist Bank. I then received an official notice from Truist Bank about the transfer of service dated XX/XX/XXXX. Just last week ( XXXX ) I received a statement from XXXX saying I owed money on XXXX. After receiving this statement, I called XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX to confirm the loan had been transferred, as I never received a " goodbye letter. '' On XX/XX/XXXX, after speaking with several individuals at XXXX, I was told the loan was still active with them. After this call, also on XX/XX/XXXX, I called Truist, and Truist told me that my loan is active with them. I only own one property, and both companies are claiming they have my loan. When I returned from work on XX/XX/XXXX, there was a statement in my mailbox from Truist with a due date of XXXX. On the morning of XX/XX/XXXX, I called Truist again seeking information about who initiated the transfer. At first they would not say, but they eventually told me XXXXXXXX XXXX my original broker, had transferred the loan to them. To summarize, XXXX XXXX and Truist Bank claim to be the holders of my loan, and both entities claim the loan was transferred to them by XXXXXXXX XXXX. XXXX XXXX has been fairly helpful in trying to solve this problem and has escalated it in hopes of getting an answer. XXXX MXXXX is also working to see where the error lies. Please let me know what the best course of action is, as I do not want to risk foreclosure over a loan that, for all intents and purposes, seems fraudulent. Thank you for your time.
