Consumer Narrative
I contacted Wells Fargo to ask if they would extend my APR of 0 % on purchases and balance transfers. Per my most recent bank statement, it indicated that my introductory APR would expire XX/XX/XXXX. Two representatives indicated that they extended it until XXXX due to a good payment history. I stated that it was not visible online and to show me where it stated that. No one, including the first representative or the one dealing with the Wells Fargo website could do that. I told them that I wanted it in writing so that if it did not get extended then I could show it was offered. The representative stated that they could not do that until the most recent payment was paid. I told her that it was paid ( {$0.00} due ) therefore, all the conditions have been met so could she put it in writing. Initially she indicated that she could fax me a letter, then while I waited, she said that she could not, only mail it. I said " ok, go ahead and mail it ''. Then she proceeded to say it would take 15-20 days for me to receive it? So again, I might not receive it until XX/XX/XXXX when my APR could potentially go to a XXXX interest rate or higher. Doesn't this go against the Fair Credit Act whereby the customer is suppose to be notified of the APR? This isn't reasonable since I have nothing in writing and will not get anything until the day my 0 % APR is over. Please assist if you could. Thank you
