Consumer Narrative
I, have submitted multiple requests to opt out of information sharing with CB INDIGO, and these requests have been denied and ignored, in violation of my legal rights. Timeline of Requests : First Request to CB INDIGO : Submitted on XX/XX/year>, requesting to opt out of sharing my Credit Account, Transaction, and Non-Public Information. CFPB Request : Submitted on XX/XX/year>, following CB INDIGO 's failure to comply with my initial request. This request was also denied and ignored. Legal Rights and Violations : Fair Credit Reporting Act ( FCRA ) : According to 15 USC 1681 section 602 ( a ), consumer reporting agencies must exercise responsibilities with fairness, impartiality, and respect for privacy. I have the right to ensure my private information is not shared without my consent. Privacy Obligations ( 15 USC 6801 ) : Financial institutions must respect the privacy of customers and protect their nonpublic personal information. CB INDIGO has failed to meet this obligation. Consumer Consent ( 15 USC 1681 section 604 ( a ) ( 2 ) ) : Consumer reporting agencies can only furnish a consumer report with the written consent of the consumer. CB INDIGO does not have my written consent to share my information. Nondisclosure Option ( 15 USC 6802 ( b ) ( c ) ) : Financial institutions must inform consumers of their right to opt out of sharing nonpublic personal information. CB INDIGO did not inform me of this right. Right to Opt Out ( 12 CFR 1016.7 ) : Consumers can exercise the right to opt out at any time. I have formally opted out of CB INDIGO 's reporting services and sharing of my information. Conclusion : CB INDIGO 's denial and ignoring of my opt-out requests and failure to comply with the FCRA and other privacy laws necessitate further action. I have the right to report these violations to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau ( CFPB ) for a formal investigation. I am once again requesting CB INDIGO to honor my rights and process my opt-out request as mandated by law.
