On XX/XX/XXXX I requested to close my account with XXXX ( which had just been bought by XXXX ). They agreed to close the account and in XXXX the following month I paid our last bill. I had heard nothing more regarding this until yesterday I was notified of a collection account added to my credit reports which negatively impacted my credit in a large way. Today XX/XX/XXXX I reached out to XXXX through the customer service line and talked to a rep and a manager for 2hrs. Claiming that they reported over {$700.00} to the credit bureaus for non payment. Stating that they had not a single transaction in their system of any payments made on my account for the entirety of my service with them ( almost two years ). I then began to dig into my bank history and retrieved each payment transactions to XXXX ( now XXXX ) up to the final bill after I cancelled service. They refused to acknowledge those transactions stating that they needed the confirmation numbers provided by them for the payments in order to retrieve any lost payment history that " was no longer in their system ''. The call ended in the manager telling me without those confirmation numbers she can do nothing for me. I then took to XXXX to try and find any source to reach out to at XXXX. I found the media teams phone number at headquarters and called. A woman by the name of XXXX answered and said she could take a message of my concern and pass it along to the team but wasn't sure if they'd even get back to me. She also said " otherwise I'll just transfer you back over to customer service line ''. I do not owe this debt, and I switched companies for Internet for countless issues with service and being wrongfully overcharged. But when I closed my account I didn't owe anything. It is wrong for this company to do this, and it's worse that the customer service members are not only in another country and give no care to help you, but that there are no other avenues to assist you.
