On XX/XX/year>, I submitted an online payment for my car loan to Truist Bank in the amount of {$640.00} ( XX/XX/year> payment ). I took a screenshot of the confirmation of payment as soon as it was submitted. On XX/XX/year>, I received notification from my bank that Truist charged me {$1200.00}. I contacted Truist, explained the situation and the representative told me that I made a payment for XXXX and XXXX and since I caused the error, they couldnt reverse the payment. I advised the representative that I did not make a double payment because at the time only the XXXX payment was due and my confirmation shows that only {$640.00} was paid. She said it was nothing they could do. I told her that fraudulent activity occurred because this is not a payment amount that I authorized and taking that amount of money from my account has caused a strain because I have other bills. I advised her that I was disappointed in the situation and the lack of concern for an error made by their staff/system. She told me that I would accrue a fee if the payment was returned by my bank even though I was charged more than what I authorized. She did say that she could see my payment of {$640.00} on XX/XX/year>, but continued to blame me for the additional {$640.00}. However, she couldnt tell me when the additional payment was applied or from what source. She said she didnt know how to access it in the system.
