I applied for a XXXX XXXX credit card from Barclay Bank barclaycard. They sent an electronic request for additional information including my DL, SS card and a utility bill. I sent them by DL, SS card and my XXXX internet bill. Days later I received a letter asking for my DL, SS card and a utility bill. I ignored the letter because it asked for the information I had just sent. I didn't hear anything from Barclay Bank barclaycard for months. When I called to ask about the status of my application XXXX agent said it was denied. I asked for a letter on why I was denied. The next agent I was transferred to explained further. Barclay does not accept XXXX as a utility bill. The second request I received didn't make this clear and I did not respond ask I thought I had fulfilled their request. To Barclay Bank barclaycard I simply did not respond to their request for information and therefor I was not denied credit. I did not get a letter stating that my application was no longer being considered. At the very least Barclay Bank barclaycard should have sent me a letter stating that my app was no longer under consideration, even if they don't consider it a denial of credit. My credit score took a hit when they made a hard inquiry and they didn't even have the courtesy to let me know they were screwing me over. My application was denied for insufficient documentation. I should have received a letter and a chance to respond or cure.
