I have been having issues trying to get my last name changed with a credit bureau since I got married back on XX/XX/2024. I changed my last name within two days with the Social Security Administration. I was able to change my last name with both XXXX and XXXX online and everything was resolved. I have been having issues with TransUnion as they say they can not do disputes for last name changes online. I would have to send sensitive documents through the mail. I do not feel comfortable sending a copy of my social security card through the mail. Trying to actually talk to anyone about these issues is atrocious as it seems as though TransUnion is run purely by robots. Tried to talk to someone over the phone and when I finally got through, they hung up on me and never tried to reach back out to me. Their chat line is purely AI or robots or whatever so they keep repeating the same script over and over. I can not view my credit report on their site as anytime after I log in, they say there are errors retrieving my information including my dispute results. I can not be verified properly with XXXX XXXX for online account access with my credit card because TransUnion will not update my information properly. Credit bureaus are unnecessary as they have all our personal sensitive information and then they are careless with it all. I have such a headache trying to deal with all of this when my own mother never had to when she got married. They didn't have credit bureaus back then. Must have been nice.
