Im not sure if theres anything that can be done because this happened back in XXXX but just wanted to check, I had a massive XXXX XXXX in XXXX and I had to retire from work so I contacted my mortgage company and asked them about a loan modification and the first thing they told me was I had to be at least 3 months behind on my mortgage payments before they could do anything so I stopped paying them for 3 months and then contacted them again and they told me that I was a good candidate for the loan modification, after about 9 months of going back and forth I was told that I had been approved and they would send me a modification package for me to review and sign, after reading the paperwork I found out that all they did was add the payments that I was behind on and add them to the existing loan and raise the interest rate, so my payments went up, then I found out that they were doing this to a lot of people, instead of helping people they were foreclosing on as many houses that they could and then I found out about a class action lawsuit against them, I got a letter and a check for XXXX XXXX dollars, I lost my house and got XXXX XXXX dollars for my troubles, my family and I have been struggling for years trying to keep a roof over our heads because once you have a home foreclosed on your credit is ruined and right now rent is outrageous, I was forced out of my home because of them and thats not right.
