Dear Sir/Madam, I am writing to file a formal complaint against Capital One regarding their handling of my Capital One Venture XXXX XXXX account ending XXXX, which I have held since XX/XX/XXXX. Despite consistently meeting all payment obligations and complying with account terms, Capital One 's actions have caused significant and unjustifiable hardship. In XX/XX/XXXX, my card was unexpectedly declined during a transaction at a store. Upon contacting Capital One 's customer service immediately, I was instructed to verify my identity by submitting a front and back copy of my ID, which I promptly provided. Despite receiving confirmation that my documents were received and in order, my card remained restricted for XXXX months until XX/XX/XXXX, unbeknownst to me as I used another card. In XX/XX/XXXX, I followed up with customer service, was again asked to resend my ID, and this time I stayed on phone till I received confirmation of its receipt with an agent who assured me the issue would be resolved promptly. However, without further communication, I received a letter about XXXX weeks later on XX/XX/XXXX stating Capital One required additional unspecified information and was closing my account due to its non-receipt. This closure is particularly confounding as I maintain XXXX other credit cards with Capital One, ( XXXX XXXX ending XXXX and Quicksilver ending XXXX ) both in good standing, suggesting they possess all necessary information about me. Also I had provided everything they had asked me and still till today they never mentioned what additional information they needed that has caused closing my account./ After the account closure I have contacted Capital one various times but they never provided me any other information or reopened my account. The unwarranted restriction and subsequent cancellation of my Venture one Card, despite fulfilling all obligations, including promptly paying an annual fee, have severely disrupted my financial management and deprived me of accumulated rewards points. The harm caused by Capital One 's actions includes : Failure to refund the annual fee upon account closure. Loss of all accumulated rewards points. A XXXXpoint decrease in my credit score due to the elimination of a {$5000.00} credit line associated with the card. I firmly believe Capital One 's actions violate fair banking practices and warrant immediate intervention by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. I am requesting a thorough investigation into Capital One 's mishandling of my account, reinstatement of my Venture Card with full account privileges, reimbursement for damages incurred, and a transparent account of the reasons for its unjustifiable restriction and closure.
