I voluntarily sold my car. I originally about my red XXXX through XXXX and was approved through Bridgecrest. I got into a car accident that I attempted to repair, but due to my loss of job resulting in low income, I could not make the car payments and voluntarily gave up my car to Bridgecrest. They sent me about 3 documents in the mail : one document stating how much is sold, one document asking if I wanted to buy the car or they were going to sell it, then a final letter stating they sold the car and the updated balance owed. I did not receive any other correspondence in the mail nor phone call. I made several calls to update my address and to see about a payment plan. All I was told was that I would have to call in to make a payment over the phone or a payment by money order or cash in the mail. I asked for a payment plan or to settle for lower due to my financial income and on the brink of bankruptcy. They denied and said they couldn't do that and to just call. I have since asked for validation of debt to be mailed to me as well as requesting a 1099C as they reported my account as closed. As they reported this account as closed/charged off on all credit bureaus, they should have sent me a 1099C to me. They have not and this account is still reported on my credit report. I have sent several certified mail requesting documentation and have not had any response to this. All I want to do is correct this in a way that I can afford and they refuse after many attempts on my end.
