XX/XX/XXXX Sallie Mae was contacted in efforts to qualify for fixed rate repayment. Borrower and co-signer were both told there are no options and the only way to receive help was to default on loan. XX/XX/XXXX XXXX to this date, Sallie Mae was contacted multiple times in effort to remove co-signer and was told they could not be removed until loan was paid off. In this date borrower entered forbearance due to job loss during Covid. XX/XX/XXXX Sallie Mae was contacted for repayment assistance options, at this time representative stated co-signer could be removed from loan after consistent 12 month payments, this further proves previous Sallie Mae agent blatantly lied about co signer removal process. Outside of co-signer relayed information, no other options offered. XX/XX/XXXX I received an harassing amount ( 3-4 a day ) of emails about a past due payment, despite it being 2-3 days late but within time-limit before default. I spoke with XXXX representatives but was mislead that I could be provided a list of repayment options I may qualify for based on three questions. Instead I was transferred multiple times, asked invasive questions without prior knowledge just be told I need my cosigner to answer same and questions and a credit check before I could be told anything. Unfortunately, this isnt the first time XXXX or my co-signer have been misled when asking for help from lender. Despite financial changes, they provide no actual assistance to adapt with repayment. They continue to send harassing amounts of emails and phone calls despite their knowledge of their consumers struggling with outrageous loan rates and non existent repayment assistance.
