I reviewed the last response from AMEX and have made several complaints through CFPB in addition to the disputes I filed with the company dating back to XX/XX/XXXX. I continue to ask for the company to report accurately to the credit agencies that I closed my account in XX/XX/XXXX. The company did not report my account closed until XXXX XXXX XXXX. In your last response, you say that you are required to report factual information to the credit report agencies. On this point we agree and in accordance with the Fair Credit Reporting Act, I need you to report accurately to the credit reporting agencies that I closed my account in XX/XX/XXXX, not XX/XX/XXXX. Why is it not being accurately reported to the credit reporting agencies that I closed my account in XX/XX/XXXX? I was, subsequently, disputing the interest and late fees but, ironically it was not until my first complaint with CFPB on XX/XX/XXXX that AMEX finally reported my account as closed. In addition to why isnt it being reported accurately that my account was closed in XX/XX/XXXX, why was my account not closed until I complained to an outside agency? I have asked this questions multiple times and in multiple ways in my previous internal disputes and external complaints with the CFPB and have yet to get a direct answer or fair resolution. Additionally, I received a letter from AMEX on XXXX reporting a technical error on my account that may have affected the interest and fees on my account. I have attached that letter. Given that mistakes are made, as we are all human, perhaps it was a technical error not to accurately report my account as closed in XXXX XXXX XXXX to the credit reporting agencies. Regardless of the cause of the prior issues with the interest and fees, please accurately and fairly report to the credit reporting agencies that my account was closed in XX/XX/XXXX and that the above technical error reported to me on XXXX contributed to the inaccurate reporting of the past due amounts and have that information reported accurately to the credit reporting agencies.
