So I've been trying to refinance my mortgage and recently got in touch with XXXX XXXX and XXXX an d authorized them to run hard credit checks. What happened as result of this, a plethora of calls started flowing in from other lenders. One of the lenders who called in, Imperium Lending ( XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX ), had my SSN details. I was very surprised with this and they advised they had these details from XXXX. I wasn't comfortable with and they told me about couple of loan options and I asked them to send me a loan estimate - however, without my prior consent, given they had all my details from this credit file- they ran a hard credit inquiry! Not just that, XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX even did not send me proper loan estimate docs- they kept sharing screenshots masking the lender name, etc. XXXX did not disclose their XXXX XXXX and did not read out the mandatory consent for hard credit checks. Just coz they had access to my SSN, they just ran the hard credit checks and this is so annoying! When I contacted XXXX to have this inquiry removed, they simply refused, stating that's something beyond their control. I was able to file disputes with XXXX and XXXX and they will investigate this further and have these inquiries removed. XXXX on one hand, makes all the personal details explicitly available to other lenders and for any unauthorized credit inquiry, won't allow me to file a dispute. Who authorized XXXX to share my personal details with all the lenders out there? So the dispute is against Imperium Lending for running the hard credit checks without my prior authorization and also against XXXX for making all my details readily available to lenders like Imperium who can use this information at any point of time. This is just unaccept able.
