I received a piece of postal mail saying that I owed an amount to XXXX XXXX XXXX that was now in collections. I emailed them to dispute this. They said they could either mail me proof or email it to me. I opted for email so that we could take care of it as quickly as possible. However, the form that was sent to me would have made me responsible for this debt just by signing it. I refused to enter into any agreement with them. They said that they would contact the original debtor and let me know of the results. I have not heard back from them, but I did notice that a collection has been added to my credit report today.
