A statement to collect the paid debt was received in XX/XX/XXXX from XXXX. I notified them to debt was paid to Wakefield & Associates. A copy of the canceled check was sent to XXXX and Wakefield & Associates in an email. No further contact was received from XXXX. XXXX said uncollected debt passes from one company to another. A statement to collect the paid debt was received from XXXX XXXX XXXX in XX/XX/XXXX. A copy of the canceled check payable to Wakefield & Associates was sent to XXXX. We have not received further contact from XXXX. It seems it will be necessary to notified succeeding debt collection companies the debt was paid to Wakefield & Associates in perpetuity until they show the debt as paid.
