The following information is to the best of my knowledge and memory because of timeframe. I have booked a package trip with XXXX and paid for it with my American Express credit card in XXXX of 2018 for {$2900.00}. About XXXX hours before my trip, XXXX called me on XXXX and said that my flight is cancelled ( no reason provided ) and XXXX wont be able to accommodate any other flight therefore they are refunding me 100 % of my trip. I have received a refund of {$1900.00} to my American Express credit card for the flights and the remaining refund of {$1000.00} was to be credited in the next ten business days and it never happened. At this point XXXX stopped responding to my requests for refund status. I called my American Express credit card and started a dispute on the {$1000.00} charge providing all necessary documentation including chat log with XXXX representative approving the refund. American Express disputed the charge. My account was at {$0.00} at this point and I decided to close my credit card account. Fast forward four months American Express sends me a bill for {$1000.00}. American Express is now showing on my credit report with a balance of {$1000.00} - something I am not responsible for.
