I went through a lawyer 's office in XXXX, Indiana for a debt from XXXX that is being handled by XXXX XXXX but, with a law firm Levi and Associates. I made a couple of settlements, I tried to reach the company by phone and got no answer. I was making payments in fact, this year I have given their law firm a total of {$2400.00} this year close to that amount last year. When I got a balance from my law firm the balance was over {$6300.00} ; However, the balance was {$4800.00} ; with the money that I am paying, I believe I am almost finished paying the debt off. The law firm hasn't accounted for the monies that I have already payed and my attorney has withdrawn from the case and now I have to find a new attorney or represent myself. When I read the reviews on Levi and Associates, there were other defendants who had the same problem with this law firm acting as a debt collector.. I believe their tactics go against the FDCPA. What they want to do is garnish my wages.
