My UBS credit card was closed unannounced on XX/XX/year> while I was on vacation in XXXX. I tried to use my UBS card and it was declined. I thought there might be suspected fraud so I called UBS card services. The UBS Card Rep informed me that the XXXX RI branch of UBS Financial Services had directed the closure of the card. The UBS card rep said that it was highly unusual for a card to be closed by the branch and, after checking with the supervisor, they had no explanation for it. Ironically, I booked this XXXX trip through the UBS Concierge Services and they ( UBS Card Services ) delivered a fruit basket to my hotel room the day before to thank me for using their travel service. I did not request this card to be closed and I want an explanation why it was done. This could have been an extremely difficult situation for me if this was the only credit card I had taken on this trip.
