My wife and I are currently in the process of searching for a new home. On Friday, XX/XX/24 our mortgage loan officer pulled our credit to start a new loan application. Since that time, my phone has been bombarded with over 100 calls and text messages from lenders asking for business. On Tuesday, XX/XX/24 my dad reached out to me that he had been contacted by a lender searching for our business. He had received a text message to his personal cell phone that was a report ( prepared for me ) that included my name and credit score as well as several potential refinance offers if I was to choose that company. I reached out to my loan officer and he confirmed that the number on this report was my credit score from TransUnion. I did reach out to the person listed on that report to ask why my information had been disclosed without my consent to my father. The individual I spoke to was very rude and dismissive, stating that he only used the information that his company had purchased directly from the credit bureau. In speaking with TransUnion, the representative was unhelpful in determining why my father 's cell phone number would be linked with my report, but did offer to delete any other phone numbers. A freeze was placed on my credit report, and she also placed a fraud alert on my account.
