As 15 usc 1681 starts out with " The banking system is dependent upon fair and accurate credit reporting. Inaccurate credit reports directly impair the efficiency of the banking system, and unfair credit reporting methods undermine the public confidence which is essential to the continued functioning of the banking system. '' I have had no trust in this banking system for quite some time. Recently, last year, I have tried writing to ask various companies to remove old, sold, and identity theft accounts from my credit report. None have been able to validate any of the alleged debts, and nobody from the companies write me back. I just get a generic " we have verified and we will continue to report this account on your credit report. '' All I am asking is to stop putting things on my credit report that does not belong. It's harmful to my reputation, and is making it very hard to continue to educate people about the law when companies do not read the law. My last letter was sent at the beginning of XXXX to 3 separate companies, and I mentioned that I will file a cfpb complaint before I initiate litigation. I do not know if I can put all 3 companies on here but feel free to email or call.
