I received a discharge order for a XXXX XXXX bankruptcy years ago. Unfortunately, as most people are told, I was told by my lawyer at the time and by Navient, that my private XXXX XXXX Tuition Answer Loans ( 7 loans ) were not eligible to be discharged in bankruptcy. At the time, I trusted the lawyer and I simply trusted that countless representatives were telling me correct information. I am finding out the truth after many years of crippling debt. This debt has caused significant turmoil in my life. I have no savings, no assets, bad credit, sleepless nights, I am embarrassed, I have XXXXXXXX XXXX and have also XXXX XXXX due to this outrageous debt that hangs over me. All because I was lied to by a lender who I trusted. My debt should have been discharged, but now navient still attempts to collect, my balance continues to grow due to the disgustingly high interest rate. I have had years of good faith repayment and never defaulted. This was a direct to consumer loan. Way over the cost of attendance. Nothing was verified with the college, I didnt require a co-signer and I surly didnt make enough money to be given these loans in the first place. They were predatory loans and I unfortunately fell victim to XXXX XXXX now known scam during XXXX while I attended XXXXXXXX XXXX These monies never crossed the schools financial aid office. Nothing verified, was my credit even checked?? I received a paper checks for each loan, in my mailbox, from XXXX XXXX that went directly to my bank account to use on whatever I wanted. These loans did NOT go towards the cost of attendance and they also exceeded the cost of attendance since I received federal student aid that went directly to the college. These private direct to consumer loans should have been discharged when I received the order. Instead, collection has continued by Navient and I have paid since the discharge order. XXXX XXXX is listed on the discharge order attached. I also would like to mention how awful majority of the representatives were over the years. I was told things such as too bad, get another job, find someone to watch your kids for free, you should have never had kids if you cant afford to pay your student loans, you should have never went to college, youll have these loans forever unless you die, do you have a rich uncle? ..also, the very consistent harassment via phone calls all day long even up until after XXXX XXXX calls to my grandmother, aunt and friend were endless as well. Please take care of this. I completed the XXXX XXXXXXXX bankruptcy only due to my husband being laid off from his job. However, I completed it successfully and honestly over 5 long years. I deserve what is right.
