I will submit 2 complaints, one for each pre-paid Amex gift card. 1 ) Ends in XXXX, balance {$1600.00} 2 ) Ends in XXXX, balance {$2500.00} In XXXX, I received two {$2500.00} American Express gift cards ( prepaid business gift ) in leu of an awards trip through my employer. I was able to use the first card ( ending in XXXX ) one time at a hotel on XX/XX/XXXX. I was unable to use the card after that. Working with AMEX, I was able to have restrictions removed and made another purchase on XX/XX/XXXX to purchase a ski pass at XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. Now the card is not working again. There is a balance of {$1600.00}. The second card ( ending in XXXX ) has never worked. It has a balance of {$2500.00}. I tried using it to make a purchase at a hotel XX/XX/XXXX, on XXXX in XX/XX/XXXX, in-person at XXXXXXXX XXXX store in XX/XX/XXXX, and in-person at XXXXXXXX XXXX appliance store XX/XX/XXXX. I spoke with a customer service representatives several times. They said the cards should work if I used the cards in-person. They do not. I had the company send me replacement cards in XX/XX/XXXX, hoping that would resolve the issue. It did not. On XX/XX/XXXX I called Amex again because I was trying to make an in-store purchase at an appliance store. The AMEX customer service representative said it must be the magnetic strip ( on the recently replaced card ) and recommended replacing it a second time. I do not believe that is the issue. I am tired of not being able to use my cards. The AMEX site says they can be used anywhere AMEX is accepted. This is not the case. I would like my money please.
