Consumer Narrative
I am writing to file a formal complaint against Wells Fargo regarding their refusal to allow me to open an account online, which has adversely affected my ability to manage my car loan account and resulted in late payments on my credit score. In XX/XX/year>, I entered into a car loan agreement with Wells Fargo to finance the purchase of a vehicle. As part of my banking preferences, I attempted to open an account with Wells Fargo online to facilitate payments and manage my loan account conveniently. However, despite multiple attempts and inquiries, Wells Fargo has consistently denied my requests to open an account through their online platform. I have been unable to view my loan balance, make payments, set reminders, or set up auto-pay since inception of the loan. Instead, I relied on receiving phone calls from a Wells Fargo representative to remind me to pay my loan each month after the due date. They were unable to add my card or account to recurring pay automatically because I had to have atleast two months on time payment and then call back to set up myself. I have XXXX and can not remember on my own, nor can I even keep a calendar. As a result of Wells Fargos refusal to provide online account access, I have encountered significant challenges in making timely payments on my car loan. Without the ability to manage my account online, I am forced to rely on alternative, less efficient methods of payment, which have led to late payments and negative repercussions on my credit score. I believe Wells Fargos actions constitute a violation of consumer protection laws and represent unfair and deceptive practices. By denying me access to online account management, Wells Fargo has failed to fulfill their obligations as a financial institution and has caused undue harm to my financial well-being. I request that the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau investigate this matter thoroughly and take appropriate enforcement action against Wells Fargo to ensure compliance with consumer protection regulations. Additionally, I seek assistance in resolving the issue of online account access and obtaining compensation for any damages incurred as a result of Wells Fargos actions, and/or having the late payments that were unfairly reported removed from my credit history. They have made me unable to apply for a mortgage, get an apartment ( no co-signer available to me ), or get a credit card, further causing me to incur late fees and high dollar value security deposits. I WAS LATE BECAUSE I MOVED AND GOT A NEW PHONE NUMBER, CAUSING ME TO BE UNABLE TO RECIEVE LATE PAYMENT REMINDERS I AM ALSO UNABLE TO LOCATE A LOAN OR ACCOUNT NUMBER.
