In XXXX I missed a payment on my Capital One credit card due to insufficient funds. I had been on XXXX XXXX and my claim was delayed due to the XXXX clerical error. While my claim was still in process I went back to work and was shortly let go after a week. I then filed for unemployment. On XXXX occasions I attempted to make my payment with a XXXX card, which I was allowed to load in the app as a payment option. Both of those payments were rejected because it is a " non-transactional account '' which I never understood until now and am still not sure the meaning of. Capital One made no effort to inform me of the nature of the issue. I have since caught up with payments from my Credit Union, only to find out that the " non-transactional account '' issue caused me to be suddenly dropped without warning or recourse. I belive this to be a violation of the Consumer Protection Act as I was on state assitance at the time of the attemped payments and I was making a good faith effort to bring my account current.
