I am writing to the CFPB to request the XXXX XXXX XXXX account be removed from my credit reports due to inaccurate information. On XX/XX/XXXX, I reviewed my credit reports and noticed XXXX XXXX was reporting two different last activity/account closure dates. TransUnion reporting the account closed XX/XX/XXXX and XXXX reporting the account closed XX/XX/XXXX ; a XXXX difference. Despite both bureaus conducting investigations, the disputed information remains the same while other account information was changed. Which begs the question, is this information true and correct? According to 15 U.S.C. 1681s-2 ] ( a ) ( 1 ) ( A ) A person shall not furnish any information relating to a consumer to any consumer reporting agency if the person knows or has reasonable cause to believe that the information is inaccurate. According to 15 U.S.C. 1681s-2 ] ( a ) ( 1 ) ( B ) Reporting information after notice and confirmation of errors. A person shall not furnish information relating to a consumer to any consumer reporting agency if ( i ) the person has been notified by the consumer, at the address specified by the person for such notices, that specific information is inaccurate; and ( ii ) the information is, in fact, inaccurate. I am in the process of purchasing a home for my family and having this incorrect information on my credit reports is hurting me. Please remove this inaccurate information from my credit reports as soon as possible.
