I discovered this company ( Affirm , Inc. ) had been reporting multiple negative installment loan accounts on my credit reports when I obtained my credit reports in late XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX, following my denial of favorable auto loan financing in XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX with an auto lender. Subsequent to discovering these fraudulent accounts, I immediately alerted the the company each of the credit bureaus, the FTC and filed identity theft reports with my local police department. I contacted this company by telephone multiple times and spoke at length with several different representatives from their internal Fraud department to file a complaint and learn more information about the details of the nature of the company and how the fraud was able to transpire. Each representative I spoke with asked me a series of security questions such as my phone number, email address, bank account numbers, SSN, DOB, and other personal information and informed me that their conclusion was that the accounts were indeed opened by someone else who had been using my identity, but different contact and banking information. I was provided a report number and informed that an internal review of their findings by a higher department would be concluded within 3-5 business days and that I should expect to see these accounts deleted from my credit reports " very soon. '' That was over 45 days ago and I have yet to receive any communications from this company and these fraudulent items are still reporting on my credit reports. I also received communication from the credit bureaus via updated credit reports around XX/XX/XXXX, stating that this company had initially certified to the credit bureaus that these accounts were being reported accurately despite my initial request to the bureaus that this information be blocked due to being the result of identity theft, which also further violated my rights under federal law.
