Sometime in XXXX or early XX/XX/XXXX the tenants in my apartment community received notice of an awards program for paying rent. The complex is named XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX located at XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX CO XXXX. I sent an e-mail to the leasing office stating I was not interested in the awards program. I received a XXXX XXXX issued by former bank through the mail. I was encouraged to activate the card which I did not do. Myself and other tenants had the XXXX XXXX activated voluntarily or involuntarily. Paying rent for XX/XX/XXXX I could not pay through my online checking account. I had to pay through the XXXX portal. I received an invoice for a XXXX XXXX payment. Upon receiving the invoice Wells Fargo was contacted. The representative understood the situation and deactivated the XXXX XXXX. A police report was filed and the first card activated in my name was given to law enforcement. When I went to pay my rent XX/XX/XXXX the rent was already paid. XXXX rent payments were made in XX/XX/XXXX. All rent payments have been made by personal check since XX/XX/XXXX. Another XXXX XXXX was activated in my name but was not sent to me. The first card and second card had the same account number except for the last XXXX digits which are different. XXXX XXXX for the apartment community is activating cards by fraudulent means. I do not have a problem paying XX/XX/XXXX rent. The XXXX card is on my credit report and I want it removed. Will not pay any penalties or late fees on the XXXX invoice received in XX/XX/XXXX.
