Consumer Narrative
I mailed a payment to the company for the XX/XX/2024 payment. They did not receive it. When the account became past due, they failed to notify me. I am set up for online banking with them. They have my email address and my cell phone number. My account was set to " Notify me of change in account status ''. I thought this meant if the account status changed from Current to Delinquent, I would get notified. I received no notifications of any kind. When I called, they claimed that they had called and sent me a notification via USPS mail. They asked me to call other departments to find out about the calls that I NEVER received. As for the USPS mail notice, it was dated XX/XX/2024 and postmarked XX/XX/2024 ( I have copies ). By this time the account was already 30 days past due. As soon as I logged on to make my XXXX payment, I noticed the March payment had not been posted. I immediately paid the March payment and late charge and the XXXX payment. I then followed up with the company regarding my account being reported as 30 days past due, which dropped my credit score by XXXX points. I requested they correct this and they said " Flagstar will not do that unless it was a bank error ''. I have NEVER had a 30 day late on any account.
