The law states it is illegal for financial institutions to report consumer account details and other nonpublic consumer information to nonaffiliated third parties. Institutions must develop and give notice of their privacy policies to their own customers and before disclosing any consumer 's personal financial information to an unaffiliated third party, and must give notice and an opportunity for that consumer to " opt out '' from such disclosure per 15 U.S.C. 6801. I am opting out of any and all authorizations per 15 U.S. Code 6802 and per 16 CFR 313.1
