Credit Collection Services sent me a letter saying I owed XXXX XXXX for service from XX/XX/year> in the amount of XXXX. I verified that I paid the bill from my XXXX on XX/XX/year>. I looked for contact information on CCS ' letter and website and I only found a phone number and a mailing address. I decline to buy a stamp to send a letter for a bill that was already paid. So I called. The lady on the other end informed me that I was on a recorded line. I said that I was not okay with them recording the phone call, but that I had paid the bill at the time they sent me the bill and if she could provide me with an email address, I'd be happy to send a copy of the check from XX/XX/year>. She said she could not move forward if I did not agree to be recorded. Well, that certainly makes no sense but there must be some way of moving forward that does not involve me paying to prove that I paid the bill or having my privacy in any way compromised ( giving personal information over the phone to an entity I do not actually know beyond a letter ) Help for any assistance you provide.
