My identity was stolen in XXXX and fraudulent charges started to show up. I contacted Discover to cancel all of the cards and to notify them of the identity theft. On XX/XX/XXXX, they sent a new card number to the person who stole my identity at the following address : XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX, which they provided me with and I made sure to include on the police report that I filed. ( XXXX XXXX Sheriff 's Office, XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX ). This person had called in pretending to be me and managed to get Discover to send them a new card. Large transactions followed, in excess of XXXX. I reported it as fraud immediately but Discover has still not resolved and just sent me a letter saying the Fraud claim was withdrawn by someone over the phone. This was not me. I told them as much. They are now telling me they need another 90 days to investigate, which puts us out to XX/XX/2024, when I first reported everything the first of XXXX.
