Letter of Complaint Filed on XX/XX/2024 To : Miles & More, XXXX, Barclays, Mastercard From : Case Number ( from Barclays ) : # XXXX I am writing this letter to bring to your attention the misleading language represented by Miles & More, Barclays, and XXXX. After multiple phone conversations with Miles & More and Barclays, it has come to my attention that I will receive no help from either side because each business redirects the blame to the other. I initially opened a Barclays Miles & More XXXX credit card in preparation for my first trip to XXXX. What initially attracted my attention to this card was the offer of a companion ticket that I could use for my husband. Had I known now that I would be misled through this entire process, I would have never chosen Miles & More and XXXX from my travel plans. Please see the attached and below of how the language is misleading : Language from XXXX Website ( XXXX XXXX XXXX ) : Thank you for choosing a World Elite Miles & More Mastercard . As the primary cardmember, you are eligible to receive an Economy Class Companion Ticket upon the first use of your new account for a Purchase and on the account opening anniversary every year thereafter provided the account remains open and in good standing. Language from Barclays Login Website : You are eligible for an Economy Class Companion Ticket after the first use of your new Account for a purchase, as well as upon the anniversary of your Miles & More Mastercard Account open date, provided you are still a cardmember. Language from Terms and Conditions ( XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX ) : Companion Ticket The Primary Cardmember is eligible for an economy class companion ticket upon the first use of your new Card Account for a purchase and on the Card Account opening anniversary every year thereafter, provided the Card Account remains open and in Good Standing. Reservations must be made by calling the Miles & More companion ticket service at XXXX. Please note that all taxes and fees must be paid for the revenue ticket as well as the companion ticket. ( Companion portion is only the airfare. ) This offer may not be combined or used in conjunction with any other promotion, discount, add-ons or coupons and is not combinable with child, infant or senior citizen fares, travel agent discounts, other promotional offers, group fares, frequent flyer awards or special credit vouchers. Please visit XXXX for full companion ticket terms and conditions. Additional Information : Annual Fee of {$89.00} - Paid Multiple Purchases Paid Called Barclays and Miles & More and was told no Companion Ticket was available. No language describes the Companion Ticket being available after the first billing cycle, only upon first purchase. When I call Miles & More to address this issue and the misleading language, they tell me that I need to contact Barclays to receive the Companion Ticket. When I call Barclays about the companion ticket, they tell me I need to call Miles & More as they are only partners with them, and the benefit is only through them. Thank you for your time and I hope that a resolution is received in a timely matter.
