An electronic bill pay, through Wells Fargo Bank, was submitted, we mistakenly submitted to the wrong payee. The funds were deducted from our checking a/c. The funds were sent to XXXX XXXX XXXX. We contacted XXXX, advised them of the error and asked that they return the mistaken payment ( {$1500.00} ). XXXX, after doing much research on their end, stated they had no record of the payment. ( I should mention that my wife had a business a/c with XXXX. She had closed the a/c during XXXX, but had not removed XXXX from our bill pay list. This how she mistakenly clicked on the wrong payee and the electronic payment was sent. ) Wells claims XXXX got the payment and deducted it from our checking a/c. We have filed at XXXX claims with Wells. They have sent us there proof of payment, however, it does not show what bank it was sent to, or the a/c number & routing number of the recipient. This has been going on since XXXX. The initial electronic payment was sent on XXXX XXXX, XXXX. We can not get Wells to provide these two most important facts. I should mention that both the local Wells Fargo branch manger and the XXXX XXXX XXXX have been very cooperative and sympathetic to the problem. My wife and I are both XXXX XXXX XXXX and this is extremely stressful for us.
