Consumer Narrative
I am writing to file a formal complaint against XXXX, XXXX, and TransUnion, the consumer reporting agencies, for multiple violations of the Fair Credit Reporting Act ( FCRA ) and related regulations. These violations pertain to unauthorized sharing of my private information, lack of consent, failure to inform me of my rights, inaccurate reporting, and inadequate maintenance of reasonable procedures. As per FCRA Section XXXX ( a ), consumer reporting agencies have the duty to handle consumer information with fairness, impartiality, and respect for privacy. However, XXXX, XXXX, and TransUnion have failed to fulfill these obligations by sharing my nonpublic personal information without my explicit consent, as mandated by XXXX XXXX XXXX. Moreover, under FCRA Section XXXX ( a ) ( XXXX ), consumer reporting agencies are only permitted to furnish consumer reports in accordance with written instructions from the consumer. However, the financial institutions - XXXX XXXX XXXX BANK, XXXX XXXX, and XXXX XXXX BANK - along with XXXX, XXXX, and TransUnion, have neither obtained my consent nor adhered to this requirement. Furthermore, FCRA Section XXXX ( b ) ( c ) stipulates that financial institutions must inform consumers of their right to exercise nondisclosure options regarding the sharing of nonpublic personal information. However, the aforementioned financial institutions failed to provide me with an explanation of this right, thus denying me the opportunity to protect my privacy. Additionally, FCRA Section XXXX ( a ) ( XXXX ) prohibits consumer reporting agencies from including adverse items in consumer reports without authorization. Yet, the inquiries from XXXX XXXX XXXX BANK, XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX TX, XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX, XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX NM, XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX and FIRST XXXX BANK, XXXX XXXX XXXX Texas XXXX, XXXX TX, XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX, are adverse items reported without my consent, constituting a violation of the law. I demand the immediate removal of these unauthorized accounts and inquiries from my credit report. Moreover, XXXX, XXXX, and TransUnion have reported inaccurate, non-mailable, and non-receivable addresses, such as XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX NM, XXXX, and XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX NM, XXXX. I demand the removal of all variations of these addresses from my credit report. Furthermore, the XXXX XXXX XXXX account ( XXXX for XXXX, XXXX for TransUnion, and XXXX for XXXX ) XXXX opened on XX/XX/XXXX, is inaccurate and violates XXXX XXXX Code XXXX ( b ). XXXX, XXXX, and TransUnion are also failing to maintain reasonable procedures, as mandated by FCRA XXXX XXXX, resulting in inaccurate reporting. I demand the immediate removal of these inaccurate accounts and any variations from my credit report. Additionally, under XXXX XXXX XXXX, I am exercising my right to opt out of the inaccurate reporting services currently furnishing my credit report. Thank you for your attention to this matter. I anticipate a prompt investigation and resolution of this complaint
