I closed out my credit card last year, paid off my balance in full last month leaving me with a XXXX balance which means I am now officially done with Big Lots or Commenity. No, my payment was not late. I paid it on XX/XX/XXXX and payment was not due until the XXXX. I should not be receiving a statement from them and yet I received a statement for {$3.00}. When I called on XX/XX/2023 between the heavy accent that I could not understand I got out of her that the {$3.00} is a floating fee just in case I didn't pay off my balance? A floating fee??? What on earth is a floating fee and how in good heavens can they charge interest on a XXXX balance? How is this legal? She's sorry but I have to pay the {$3.00}. I don't think so. At this point I do not owe them a dime and I suggest they remove that from my account and considered it paid in full.
